On July 11th, 1932, Nikola Tesla receives a mysterious visitor at his rooms in the New Yorker Hotel. Ostensibly there to interview him about his recent discoveries for a small newspaper, the reporter is only interested in Tesla’s design for a camera that can photograph thoughts. During a demonstration of the device, Tesla discovers his visitor is a time traveller, intent on changing history.

Believing the USSR’s dissolution is propaganda designed to smoke out the lunar installation, he maintains the moonbase avoiding contact with Earth. After what he considers 30 years to have passed, circumstances suddenly change, challenging Nikolay’s perception of reality. Regardless, he is determined to carry out his mission.

After a massive international corporation takes over Hero-on-the-way and pushes the app’s existing superheroes to the bottom of the search results, Honcho and Ephemera decide to fight back. They enlist Doctor Slow-mo and several other heroes to protest at one of the corporation’s other businesses. However, when things don’t go as planned, Doctor Slow-mo, Synapse and a new hero on the app are forced to act.

Ellie, a student, rents the only room she can afford near her university. But the place turns out to have a colony of flies and a slightly pungent smell. She finds the flies’ behaviour odd and very distracting. Frustrated by her landlord’s refusal to help, she complains to the city. Too late, Ellie discovers the flies are intelligent and had come to a unique agreement with the previous tenant.

Fed up with fighting off the natural flora invading his lawn from Leaf’s yard, Ken goes online to find a solution and stumbles upon a mysterious website selling home CRISPR DNA editing labs targeted to the home gardener with invasive weed problems. The DIY kit proves more effective that Ken could imagine and some oversights in his designer Ken grass soon become apparent.

While tracking down a scam artist who disappeared with 200 million dollars, a freelance insurance investigator stumbles across an online video by the leader of a group called the Free Energy Coalition. She suspects the man in the video is her missing suspect and goes to a Free Energy conference to find out, but is quickly sucked into the murky world of conspiracy theories which claim the laws of thermodynamics have been faked to prevent the world from discovering perpetual motion machines which can generate free energy.

Camila, a wannabe actor desperate to pursue a career on the stage, indentures herself to a theatre company which entertains tourists in low earth orbit. She plays a modern version of the famous 18th-century pirate Anne Bonny and what passes for their act is mostly an excuse to squeeze their captive audiences for tips. But during a performance for a wealthy eight-year-old she begins to realize they may not be acting, and as with the pirates of old, behind their backs one of her crewmates is willing to sell them down the river for a larger percentage of the take.

While investigating a complaint about an oversized house, which mysteriously appeared in his neighbourhood, Ken meets the eccentric and angry owner who rather than conforming to city building codes tries to bribe Ken by granting him four wishes. At first, Ken dismisses the peculiar home owner’s suggestion as nonsense but soon learns, when a careless wish threatens to consume Leaf’s backyard greenhouse and the entire neighbourhood, that the homeowner is more than what he seems. To save Leaf’s heirloom tomatoes Ken is forced to make a carefully worded wish, but the results are not exactly as in intended.
